DFO Supports Traditional Music & Dance

Have an idea for an event that brings youth college age and younger in contact with traditional music or dance? Check out a DF-YO! Grant!

OR have an idea for an event that brings together adults and/or community? See section on DFO grants!

We try to act as a catalyst for individuals and groups who want to develop traditional music and dance events in our region. To that end, we can put our organizational support behind your idea to promote our common goals.

The DFO can provide support on a limited one-time basis for events sponsored by other organizations. Support may be technological, administrative, and/or financial. Interested parties should contact the program committee with the appropriate application.

Have an idea for an event that brings adults or community in contact with traditional music or dance? Submit the application and you could receive a small stipend to cover part or all of your operating expenses. Grants up to $500 available.

DFO Affiliates are typically dance series or events that receive limited DFO support in the form of insurance and publicity.

Youth Outreach: "DF-YO!"

Have an idea for an event that brings youth (college age or younger) OR adults with disabilities in contact with traditional music or dance? Submit the application and you could receive a small stipend to cover part or all of your operating expenses. Grants up to $500 available. Examples of events include teaching dance in physical education classes, hosting a Family night with a live band, or teaching participants how to play traditional music.

DF-YO! Grant Application

Flurry Scholarship

Want to attend the Flurry Festival this year, but need financial assistance? Youth age 6-21 and adults with disabilities can qualify for a Flurry Scholarship for some or all of the event. Submit the application below and see the Flurry website for opportunities to volunteer to offset the cost. We hope we can help you out!
